Each year thousands of people from rural and regional Queensland benefit directly from Mater’s services and innovative programs and indirectly from our medical and clinical research.
Members of the Mater Children’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Critical Care Unit retrieval teams, travel by plane, helicopter and ambulance to locations all over Queensland to collect seriously ill or injured children in need of intensive care, and bring them back for expert treatment at the Mater.
