Premature babies at the Mater Mothers’ Hospital will receive a helping hand when the second Plantation Homes House for Life at North Lakes is auctioned in June.

The generosity of Plantation Homes means that all profits from the sale of the 2009 House for Life will go directly to the Mater’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) to support some of our littlest Queenslanders.

The NCCU housed a miracle when twins Sarah and Madison Pepper were born 15 weeks early in May 2008.

The twins had a combined weight of just over one kilogram. The little battlers survived with the help of Mater round-the-clock care and hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

“The proceeds from the House for Life auction will make an enormous difference to Queensland babies like Sarah and Madison,” said Mater Foundation Executive Director Mr Nigel Harris.

“Many of these babies cannot breathe or even maintain their own body temperature without the latest in medical technology. It’s really important that we give them as much of a fighting chance as possible.”

This is the second of three houses created by Plantation Homes - with a fundraising goal of $1.5 million dollars to support the Mater Mothers’ Hospital. For more information about Plantation Homes House for Life, visit www.house4life.com.au
