Mater Foundation is joining 130 of Australia’s most loved charities to encourage all Australians to include their favourite charity in their Will as a lasting gift to help future generations during Include a Charity Week, 12-18 September.
Whilst 70 per cent of Australians support charities, only 7.5 per cent of Australians leave a charitable gift in their Will.
“Bequests—donations made in Wills—provide an important source of income to Mater, both now and in the future. It is also one of the most significant gifts a person can make.” Mater Foundation Executive Director, Nigel Harris said.
“You don’t have to be wealthy to include a gift to your favourite charity in your Will. One final gift, no matter the size, has the potential to make a huge difference to your favourite charity.”
“After making sure families and friends are taken care of, a charitable gift is a great way to leave a lasting legacy which will benefit future generations.”
