Three-year-old beautiful twins Bronte and Alex have been in and out of hospital since they were born three weeks premature.

At only one day old, they were transferred to Mater Mothers' Hospitals Neonatal Critical Care Unit for two weeks for an operation.

When the twins were ready to head home, new parents Carlyn and Paul were hit with another blow—their newborn babies were diagnosed with a life-long lung disease.

Bronte and Alex have Cystic Fibrosis which brings them back to Mater Children's Hospital several times a year.

Despite their ongoing care, the twins are bubbly and energetic children who love to play and get into all kinds of mischief.

"Thanks to the amazing care of Mater staff and ongoing treatment, my babies are being helped to breathe easier. You never know when you're going to need the specialised care of a place like Mater," Carlyn said.
