Ordinary people, extraordinary gifts

After taking care of your family and loved ones, you can make a difference to the lives of thousands of others by leaving a bequest—a donation in your Will—to a charity like Mater Foundation.

How bequests make a difference

Your bequest to Mater, whether large or modest, is a lasting and meaningful gift to future generations. Bequests left to Mater help:

  • Provide the best possible care to patients when they need it most—from the tiniest premature baby to the elderly.
  • Find ways to better understand, prevent and treat life-threatening diseases through medical research.
  • Educate the next generation of health care professionals to provide exceptional care every day.
  • Ease the suffering of others in the spirit of our founders—the Sisters of Mercy.

There are several different types of bequests that you can make, and your solicitor or public trustee can provide advice on what is best for you.

Leaving a residuary bequest

A residuary bequest consists of the remainder or a percentage of your estate after all the other gifts and debts have been paid. Residuary bequests keep up with inflation and are an effective way to divide your estate between a number of people and causes that are important to you.

If you are considering making a bequest to Mater Foundation register your details and we will send an information pack.

If you have already left a bequest to Mater Foundation, let us know your details so that we can keep you updated and acknowledge your support.
