BICARE (Brain Injured Children’s Aftercare Recovery Endeavours) was founded by Mrs Dorothy Stringer OAM and raises funds to support healthcare and research through a volunteer-operated thrift shop, and has been supporting Mater endeavours for the past 24 years.
Dr Trisha O'Moore-Sullivan says the funds will be made available to researchers from the Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane and the Queensland Brain Institute to undertake collaborative research projects.
“In keeping with the remit of BICARE, the research will focus on young people in the areas of neurosciences, brain injury and disability and mental health,” Dr O’Moore-Sullivan said.
“BICARE is keen to fund collaborative basic science and clinical research that will translate into tangible clinical outcomes.”
