Elizabeth is still climbing for cancer

Elizabeth is still climbing for cancer

Late last month, incredible Mater Foundation supporter Elizabeth Johnson took part in Stadium Stomp and as part of her entry, raised more than $6,400 for cancer research at Mater. Elizabeth was one of the top fundraisers in our previous fundraising event, Climb for Cancer, so it is heart-warming to see that she is still as committed as ever to make a difference.

Elizabeth is determined to do all she can to beat this insidious disease, having sadly lost her dad to bowel cancer 18 years ago and watching her best friend go through treatment for breast cancer.

“I am passionate about raising money each year for cancer research in honour of my late father, and my friends who have travelled the challenging journey of cancer recovery,” said Elizabeth.  “I didn’t feel like exercising, but then I thought, ‘Dad didn’t like chemo either, but he had to do it’.”

Elizabeth hopes to raise the bar even higher in 2022 and aims to complete 10,000 stairs at the Gabba Stadium Stomp and raise $10,000 for cancer research at Mater.
