Watts’ family continue to make miracles happen

Friday 19 February saw the Watts family host their 12th annual golf day, raising funds for Mater Little Miracles.Shaune-Watts-golf-day-jpg.png

This was Shaune’s most successful golf day to date, with the final fundraising tally reaching a record $64 784.42.

This incredible result far exceeds the funds necessary to enable Shaune to purchase a new Giraffe Warmer for Mater’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU)— a vital piece of care equipment that ensures Mater’s tiniest patients can have the best possible start to life. The event was such a success that there are additional funds leftover which will go towards purchasing additional equipment for the NCCU.

The Watts family have a long-lasting and special connection with Mater. In 2010, Shaune and Kimberley’s son Noah was born at Mater at 23 weeks’ gestation, and remained in the care of the nurses at Mater’s NCCU for 10 weeks.

It was this experience that inspired the Watts family to start fundraising for Mater Little Miracles—and to date, they’ve raised more than $555 000 to help seriously ill and premature babies like Noah get the best possible start to life.

On behalf of all babies born and cared for at Mater, we send a huge heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the Watts family and their incredible sponsors. Your support makes miracles happen at Mater.
