We are Smiddy.
Smiddy embodies everything, and everyone, this community stands for.
Beginning as a journey of friends (“Smiling for Smiddy”) named in honour of Adam Smiddy, who passed away from an aggressive melanoma in 2006, aged 26 -Smiddy rallies to fund vital research for everyone affected by cancer.
Under the banner of teamwork, spirit and mateship- we offer inclusive, life-affirming and inspiring cycling and triathlon challenge events, enabled by dedicated volunteers and generous donors, supporters and corporate partners.
Smiddy empowers individuals, corporates and communities alike to channel their philanthropic efforts toward vital funding for pioneering cancer research that delivers kinder treatment options and better long-term outcomes as a new standard of care.
Our vision is to realise a world where a cancer diagnosis doesn’t scare us anymore.
Research will inform this existential shift in how we interpret the word cancer.
Thanks to Smiddy, Mater researchers continue to push boundaries and bring hope to patients and families affected by cancer.
