Community Hero August: Ipswich Parents & Old Boys

We're proud to recognise Ipswich Parents & Old Boys as our August Mater Foundation Community Hero.

Through weekly raffles and meat tray draws at CSI Ipswich, this dedicated volunteer group has raised an incredible $9,000 in support of the Mater Mothers' Unit at Mater Hospital Springfield.

Their fundraising journey began after watching the Nine Telethon supporting Mater Little Miracles. Inspired by the stories of babies and families, and the life-changing care they received through Mater, the group was motivated to make a difference in their local community. Today, every dollar they raise helps support vital care and equipment for babies and families at Mater Hospital Springfield.

Ipswich Parents & Old Boys embody the spirit of community. What started as a group of locals coming together has grown into an ongoing commitment to supporting local healthcare and helping families access the care they need during some of life's most important moments.

Since opening, Mater Hospital Springfield has become a trusted healthcare hub for families across across the Ipswich City Council region, including Greater Springfield.  Today, Mater Mothers' Unit provides expert maternity and newborn care, giving local families access to world-class care close to home.

Thank you to the Ipswich Parents & Old Boys for their generosity, dedication and unwavering support of Mater and the communities of Ipswich, Springfield and beyond.
