No. Mater was founded by generous community support. Any gift, large or small, can have a lasting impact. After your loved ones are taken care of, you can opt for a small percentage of your estate, from as little as 1%, or a specific amount.

Mater offers a professional Free Will service for those who choose to include a Gift in Will to Mater.

You can choose to nominate a specific healthcare, research or education cause, or your Gift will support a generic area of greatest need within Mater’s Mission. Mater Gift in Will supporters contribute to a range of critical efforts across Mater’s continuum of care from tiny, vulnerable babies to seniors requiring specialist and palliative care.

Yes. To update an existing Will with a Gift to Mater, you need to add a “codicil”, which is an amendment to your existing Will. Your solicitor can help you with this.

Everyone should have a valid Will. It’s the only way to ensure your wishes are carried out when you pass away. We recommend speaking to a solicitor to ensure you have a legally valid Will that protects your loved ones and/or the causes closest to your heart.
