We’re excited to celebrate Michelle as a Mater Foundation Community Hero, in recognition of her generosity and the positive impact she’s creating for the Mackay community.
Since 2024, Michelle Bath has brought her community together through the Breasties Soirée, an annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month event held in Mackay. Across two events, Michelle has helped raise more than $30,000 to support women with breast cancer and advance healthcare through Mater Chicks in Pink (MCIP).
As a passionate advocate for MCIP, Michelle is deeply committed to making a meaningful difference for families in her region. At the heart of each Soirée is a strong focus on people. By centring a patient’s voice, Michelle ensures guests clearly understand why they’re there and how their generosity translates into real impact that is close to home.
Michelle’s events are made possible by an incredible network of friends, family and local supporters who share her commitment to the Mackay community. Together, they’re also helping raise awareness of Mater Foundation and the importance of our work in strengthening healthcare in regional Queensland.
“Mater Foundation is making a real difference to regional communities, providing support and equipment to your local Mater hospital meaning you can stay closer to home and still receive great care.” - Michelle Bath.
With plans already underway for her next Breasties Soirée later this year, Michelle’s dedication continues to inspire. We’re sincerely grateful for her generosity, leadership and compassion, and for the community that stands beside her.
