We are delighted to recognise Pranay Parekh as a Mater Foundation Community Hero!

Three years ago, following the isolation of COVID-19, Pranay and a passionate group of community members came together with a simple idea: to reconnect people through a night of fun, flair, and philanthropy. That idea blossomed into the now much-loved annual A Night of Chance and Charm, a glamorous fundraising gala that has become a highlight of the Springfield social calendar.

This year, Pranay and his dedicated committee hosted the event for the first time in support of the Mater Little Miracles (MLM) and supporting mothers, babies, and the new Mater Hospital Springfield.

A Night of Chance and Charm stands out as both a vital fundraiser and a joyful event for Springfield. Thanks to the devoted committee and local sponsors, guests enjoyed a carefully planned evening with exciting raffle prizes, including a diamond ring donated by Springfield Jewellers. The major raffle, where a lucky guest opened a treasure chest to find the sparkling diamond, was a memorable moment that showcased the evening’s generosity.

This vibrant event does more than bring people together; it makes a tangible difference for the community. By choosing to support Mater Little Miracles this year, the committee focused on an urgent need: expanded maternity and newborn services for Springfield, one of Queensland’s fastest-growing family regions. The money raised will help Mater Hospital Springfield provide much-needed care for mothers and babies.

Pranay credits the event’s success to the hard work and generosity of everyone involved. The committee, sponsors, and guests all played a part in making A Night of Chance and Charm such a meaningful occasion. Their shared dedication ensures the event continues making a real impact, connecting people and inspiring lasting change.

Reflecting on the event and its purpose, Pranay shares, “The sponsors are people who lead with heart, purpose, and generosity. We wanted to support mothers and babies, amplifying the voices and needs of families in our growing community. Supporting Mater Hospital Springfield through the Mater Little Miracles program is our way of giving back and ensuring a brighter future.”

Mater Foundation Community Hero recognises and celebrates the outstanding contributions of our volunteers, fundraisers, and advocates.

Thank you, Pranay, we value your incredible dedication and inspiring commitment!
