BIG W’s annual token campaign hopes to raise more than $50,000 for Mater Little Miracles this Easter.
While $2 doesn’t seem like a lot, it really is. The impact of every donation in support of Mater Little Miracles should not be underestimated.
From 13 March – 8 April, BIG W stores across Queensland and the Northern Territory will again undertake their annual ‘Bunnyville’ campaign -selling tokens and asking customers for donations in support of Mater’s tiniest patients.
Together, BIG W staff raised more than $51,000 last year for seriously ill and premature babies at Mater and hope to surpass that incredible achievement in 2023.
Their fundraising helps babies like Moira, born at 23+3 weeks. Moira didn’t take her first breath until she was 12 weeks old and relied on specialist round-the-clock care and state-of-the-art ventilators to stay alive.
Campaign funds will also help Mater continue to be Australia’s leading speciality service for treating and managing complex and high-risk pregnancies.
Mater is grateful for the ongoing dedication shown by BIG W staff and customers and thank them for their generosity and support. Moira’s mother, Ashlee, wants to say thank you too.
“Donations mean more ventilators, more specialist care and another baby’s life saved,” Ashlee said.
“When you have a ‘premmie’, your eyes open to another world…and tragically, some parents have to say goodbye. We are among the lucky ones. Our little girl came home.”
