Mater Foundation is incredibly grateful to Jenny Jenner for once again choosing to support Cancer Care Services at Mater Hospital Springfield and South Brisbane through this year’s Kalbar Sunflower Festival.

From Pick Your Own Flowers and Devonshire Teas to the Long Lunches, raffles, auctions, and the ever-popular Spin the Wheel—every joyful moment at the festival has contributed to something truly life-changing: funding a Cancer Care Coordinator for our patients.

Thanks to Jenny and the incredible Kalbar community, over $120,000 was raised to continue funding this vital role—and to help purchase a cuddle bed for the palliative care ward at Mater South Brisbane.

A cuddle bed provides the space and comfort for loved ones to lie side by side in a patient’s final days, bringing closeness, dignity, and peace at life’s most tender moments.

Ninetta Stockwell, Cancer Care Coordinator at Springfield, shared:

“As a Cancer Care Coordinator, I have the privilege of walking alongside our patients through some of the most challenging times of their lives. I’m there to help make sense of a complex system, to be a constant presence, and to offer support that’s not just clinical—but also emotional, practical, and spiritual.”

Thank you, Jenny, for your leadership, passion, and unwavering support. Your impact goes far beyond the sunflowers—you’ve helped fund moments of comfort, clarity, courage, and connection.
