Costco stores in North Lakes, Ipswich and Coomera are once again supporting Mater Little Miracles for their annual in-store fundraising token campaign.

From 1–30 September, Costco members can purchase a donation token at participating stores to help fund life-saving care and equipment for premature and critically ill babies treated at Mater Mothers’ Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU).

Since partnering with Mater Foundation in 2015, Costco’s token campaign has raised an incredible $785,000 to support Queensland’s sickest and most vulnerable newborns.

Funds raised through this year's campaign will help provide essential neonatal equipment used by Mater's specialist teams every day to give babies the best possible start to life.

Giving Queensland's tiniest patients a chance to thrive

Buying a token when you shop at Costco can help change the lives of babies like Tenayah.

When Tenayah was born four and a half months early, her parents, Tania and Tyrone, were preparing for the unimaginable.

After learning at their 19-week scan, that their pregnancy would unlikely reach it to full term, they were admitted to Mater Mothers' Hospital, and all they could do was wait and hope. Every day brought uncertainty and fear.

Then Tenayah arrived suddenly at just 22 weeks and three days.

Weighing less than a tub of margarine. Her skin was translucent and her lungs were not ready for life outside the womb.

Tenayah needed immediate resuscitation, but against all odds Mater's Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) team kept her breathing through the critical moments after birth.

Over the next 158 days, Tenayah's faced serious challenges as she battled lung distress, infection, and serious complications affecting her eyes, bones and digestion.

Throughout her journey, specialised equipment and expert neonatal care at Mater gave her the best chance of survival.

The impact of your donation

After five long months in hospital, Tenayah was finally strong enough to go home.

Today - Tenayah is a thriving little girl with a bright future that defied the odds.

Stories like Tenayah's don't happen by chance.

They are possible because highly skilled clinicians have access to advanced neonatal equipment, including infant incubators that help recreate the protective environment of the womb and support vital development during a baby's earliest days.

Every token purchased helps Mater continue providing world-class neonatal care for Queensland families.
