In October, as we conclude Breast Cancer Awareness Month we acknowledge Hastings Deering, who have been named as a Mater Foundation Community Hero.

Hastings Deering has helped raise more than $200,000 in the last 23 years for breast cancer research, treatment and support through its longstanding connection with Mater Chicks in Pink.

In October, Hastings Deering hosted its 21st annual fundraising breakfast at the Hastings Deering Head Office in Brisbane. The event started in the year 2000 with a dozen people coming together to honour family and friends diagnosed with breast cancer.

Organised by their Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the breakfasts are popular with staff and partners as they come together to share stories, inspiration, and hope for the future.

The Brisbane event featured a panel of speakers, including Professor John Hooper who leads the Mater Cancer Biology Research Group as well as Jo Collins, one of the original founders of Chicks in Pink.

This year for the first time the Mackay Hastings Deering team also held a breakfast with panel of guest speakers.

Hastings Deering is known for selling, renting, and offering support and parts distribution services for customers across multiple construction, mining, government and primary industries. To make a colourful impact across all their industries, the company has now turned two of its earth-moving machines a bright shade of fuchsia to raise further awareness of breast cancer.

Thank youHastings Deering for making an ongoing, incredible impact this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
