Mater Foundation wishes to acknowledge the incredible success of generous supporters, Paul Shih and wife Connie Su, after hosting the PRET Australia Award Night for a third consecutive time.

In yet another record-breaking year, this incredible event raised over $220,000 to be distributed to Mater Foundation, Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust, RBWH, and Fareshare.

The event, hosted by Paul and Connie, was filled with excitement and adventure with a “travel the world” theme that was generously sponsored by EVA Air.

Mater Foundation was gifted $76,751, earmarked for the purchase of a Cosypod transport cot. This specialised equipment can accommodate two babies or two sets of twins in a single transfer, facilitating the transfer of babies cared for at Mater’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) back to special care nursery in their local hospital or onto flights.

This service enables families to be within their own community with a supportive network, once their baby is able to be safely transported. The proximity to home during the challenging journey of caring for a sick baby helps alleviates immense stress.

The acquisition of this new transport cot is crucial for Mater NCCU to have dedicated equipment, ensuring the safe and timely transfer of babies back to their local community.

Paul is a highly respected figure in the real estate training industry, affectionately referred to by his students as “Teacher Shih” in the Chinese-speaking community.

Beyond real estate, Paul passionately teaches the joy of giving. As an immigrant, Paul believes in giving back to the community and actively encourages his students to do so.
