Raystech has reaffirmed its commitment to Queensland’s tiniest and most vulnerable patients with their new $1 million multi-year philanthropic pledge to support the Mater Little Miracles Research Centre (MLMRC).

MLMRC is dedicated to advancing research in maternal and neonatal health. The centre’s work has the potential to influence care not only in Australia but around the world, helping more families experience healthy beginnings and brighter futures.

At the event announcing this extraordinary gift, Associate Professor Paul Dawson shared updates on his research using magnesium sulfate to reduce disability in preterm babies, Australia’s first and the world’s first of its kind. He noted, “This project would not be where it is today without philanthropic support from individuals and companies like Raystech. Philanthropy not only makes research possible, it helps us leverage additional funding and multiply the impact.”

Raystech’s has already contributed $500,000 which has funded vital equipment in Mater’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit, helped establish Catherine’s House for mothers, babies and families to support women experiencing perinatal mental health challenges, and extended assistance to regional hospitals. These contributions have helped support many families across the community.

Raystech Founder Mark Miao reflected on the ripple effect of giving: “When we help a baby, we’re really helping three families — parents, grandparents, and the child whose life is ahead. Mater Foundation is the bridge that lets us reach those families.”

Mater Foundation CEO Andrew Thomas said, “We are incredibly proud to work alongside Raystech, not only witnessing their professional growth, but also their leadership in encouraging business partners to give back to the community.”

Mater Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to Mark Miao, Nick Shen, Johnson Xu, Sarah Cheng, Abby Zhang, and the entire Raystech team for their generosity and commitment to making a difference.
