In April, we acknowledge Sally’s Sisters, who have been named a Mater Foundation Community Hero.
Sally's Sisters raised a remarkable $6,331 in support of Mater Chicks in Pink, in honour of their sister and friend Sally, currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Over 200 people came together in Bowen to participate virtually in the International Women’s Day Fun Run presented by National Storage, showing their support for Sally and to raise awareness of breast cancer.
Sally’s sister Sarah wants to encourage more people to set up their own virtual events in their local communities.
“It’s not just about fundraising, but about showing support for those people who may be going through, or have lost a loved one to, breast cancer,” Sarah said.
“That can have as much as an impact as the money you raise.”
