In December we acknowledge Sean and Robyn Lever, who have been named as Mater Foundation Community Heroes.

Sean was introduced to Mater Smiling for Smiddy following his father’s cancer diagnosis, signing up to his first Noosa Tri in 2010and he hasn’t looked back since.

Initially a supporter, Robyn was inspired by the passion in each Smiddy event and joined as an athlete in 2013. They have participated both in cycling and triathlon events, with Sean completing his 11th Noosa Tri with Team Smiddy in 2023. Both Robyn and Sean completed the flagship Brisbane to Townsville cycling challenge on multiple occasions

Sean and Robyn are dedicated supporters of Mater Smiling for Smiddy by encouraging other members, consistently fundraising and above all, sharing their genuine passion for empowering cancer research at Mater. They have seen the devastating impact cancer has on so many families, including their own, and this is what continues to drive them.

“When you understand the power of the community in effecting change, through collective funds raised, it will ignite a passion within—that’s the Smiddy Spirit. So get on board and join the wonderful journey of Team Smiddy.”

Thank you, Sean and Robyn, we value your incredible contribution!
