We are delighted to celebrate TEES and Friends, who have been acknowledged as a Mater Foundation Community Hero!
TEES and Friends are united by the experiences they have had with breast cancer—whether that’s a personal diagnosis, or seeing a loved one battling the disease.
For the past five years, they have taken part in the International Women’s Day Fun Run presented by Queensland X-Ray, and in 2024, they hit the top spot on the fundraising leaderboard community teams, raising over $21,000!
To help them reach this impressive total they held fundraising morning teas, workplace raffles and lunches and barbeque fundraisers.
Member Shareen says that this is their way to support those on their breast cancer journey, and to help raise much-needed funds for research to improve diagnosis and treatment.
Mater Foundation Community Hero recognises and celebrates the inspiring contributions of our volunteers, fundraisers and advocates.
