In August, we acknowledge Carmel College who have been named as a Mater Foundation Community Hero.

Year 12 students at Carmel College have just completed The Chop, with 60 students and brave staff members cutting their hair to raise funds for Mater Chicks in Pink. With the ministry leadership team and school captain leading the charge, they raised nearly $24,000 in 2023! This brings their total to almost $75,000 raised over the last three years, making a real difference to breast cancer patients and their loved ones.

Participants cut off at least 20cm of their hair, which was donated to charitable organisations and wigmakers to change the lives of those with medically-induced hair loss. They were supported by the year 9 leaders and teachers Mr Turtle and Mrs Falvey, holding a bake sale to raise an additional $830!

Thank you and congratulationsCarmel College, we value your incredible contribution.
